KEYDIY C29A701 & C29A771 vs. C29AX: New NXP Smart Key Comparison

The new KEYDIY C29A701 and C29A771 Programmable Smart Keys are specially developed for NXP smart keys that are difficult to generate using traditional methods, offering a reliable solution for cloning compatible original keys. Both models support NXP NCF29A7 and NCF29A8 chips, while featuring different key styles to meet various vehicle and user preferences.

New C29A7 Series for NXP Smart Key Cloning

The C29A7 series is designed specifically for NXP NCF29A7 and NCF29A8 smart keys.

  • C29A701 → Model 01 rectangular design
  • C29A771 → Model 71 car-shaped design

The two models use the same NXP chip family but different physical designs, so selection is straightforward: match the NXP chip first, then choose the preferred key design.

C29A7 vs. C29AX: What’s the Difference?

The new C29A7 models expand the KEYDIY programmable smart key lineup alongside the existing C29AX01 and C29AX71.

The key difference is the supported NXP chip family:

Model Status Applicable NXP Chips Key Design
C29A701 New NCF29A7, NCF29A8 Model 01
C29A771 New NCF29A7, NCF29A8 Model 71
C29AX01 Existing 29A1/2/3/4, 2953, 2954 Model 01
C29AX71 Existing 29A1/2/3/4, 2953, 2954 Model 71

Same Design, Different Chip Support

C29A701 and C29AX01 share the Model 01 rectangular design, but support different NXP chip families.

C29A771 and C29AX71 share the Model 71 car-shaped design, but also support different NXP chip families.

So the physical appearance is not enough to identify the correct key. Check the original key’s NXP chip configuration first.

Simple Model Selection

Choosing the right KEYDIY C29 key comes down to two points:

1.Check the NXP chip family

NCF29A7 / NCF29A8 → C29A7 series

29A1/2/3/4, 2953/2954 → C29AX series

2.Match the key design

Model 01 → Rectangular design

Model 71 → Car-shaped design

Compatibility Notes

The original vehicle key must feature a single-chip design, and the vehicle must be equipped with a keyless entry system. These programmable smart keys are designed to read and write original factory keys only. Aftermarket keys are not supported for data reading, and the keys are intended specifically for smart key cloning, not for use as ZB remotes.
